Verizon Wireless: The All Seeing Eye

Verizon wireless has updated it's privacy policy that will allow the carrier to monitor your physical location and your browsing activities. but that's not all.


Verizon Says that, it will also share your location information with other companies so that these third parties can "create business and marketing reports".
All Verizon customers are subject to the changes, those who don't want their information shared can choose to "opt out" on Verizon's website. If you choose to remain opted-in, Verizon says that none of the information they use or share will be able to be personally identified as yours.

What information will be collected ?
According to an official statement, Verizon Wireless will use the following categories of information:
Mobile Usage Information:
Addresses of websites you visit when using our wireless service. These data strings (or URLs) may include search terms you have used
Location of your device ("Location Information")
App and device feature usage
Consumer Information:
Information about your use of Verizon products and services (such as data and calling features, device type, and amount
of use)
Demographic and interest categories provided to us by other companies, such as gender, age range, sports fan, frequent diner, or pet owner ("Demographics")

How can you Opt-Out ?
If you consider this as a breech of privacy then "You" can opt out by visiting www.vzw.com/myprivacy or calling 1-866-211-0874
If you have a Family SharePlan® or multi-line account, you must indicate your choice for each line. If you add a line or change a telephone number, you will need to update your
privacy choices.
